Social media channels are busy places especially Facebook. We all know how crowded a Facebook newsfeed can be with posts from family and friends posts plus, any businesses you follow and then sponsored posts. So how do you make your business profile stand out on Facebook?
Include quality images
You only have a short time to grab your target audience’s attention when they visit your page. So have an eye-catching profile and cover image that is relevant to your brand and make sure it is good quality.
Complete all the fields on your profile
Facebook allows you to include lots of information about your business. By completing as much information as you can in all fields will help your page stand out and be found by search engines. It is beneficial to review the section regularly and update if necessary.
Always include a call-to-action button
Make it as simple and clear as possible for people to contact your business. The Facebook call to action (CTA) button is positioned at the top of your business page and encourages people to take the next step to find out more. There are many CTA buttons to choose such as call now, send a message, learn more, book, start order. Choose the one that is right for the action you wish your audience to take. You can add your CTA button by going to your Facebook business page and clicking edit under your cover photo.
Post quality content regularly
Whilst it is important to post often, posting quality content that your audience will engage with should be your main priority. It’s essential to keep your branding in mind when you are creating post and ensure that your posts are relevant to your business and your audience. Whilst you may wish to discuss topics on trend, your target audience should be your main focus. Using eye catching images will also help your post to stand out. Try to use the different post formats that Facebook offers to keep your page fresh and appealing.
Analyse your posts
To understand which type of posts and topics your audience engage with the most measure your post’s performance. Facebook has an insight tab which has lots of information about the performance of your page, your posts and any adverts you place. Including information such as posts had the best reach, the best times for your audience engaging with your post, how many clicks or take up on the call-to-action. This information is valuable to understand which posts perform best which can feed into future activity and content.
Engage with your audience
Ideally you are looking to get your posts in front of your audience’s audience. This can be achieved by increasing your audience’s engagement with your posts which helps to expand the reach of your post. There are several things you can do to increase audience engagement:
- Include questions in your post that your audience will want and can answer
- Always respond to any audience comments
- Set up a Q&A to encourage questions
Encourage your customers to generate content
If you can get your customers or audience to create content about your business this helps to build trust in your brand and increase your reach. To motivate your audience to do this ask them to leave a review or run photo competition asking your audience to post relevant images.
